Funeral services for one of East Texas' oldest citizens, Mrs. Sarah Ann Amanda Lamb, 93, who died at Malakoff Wednesday night, were held at Malakoff Friday afternoon by Rev. D.R. Cartlidge. Burial followed in the Athens city cemetery.
Mrs. Lamb died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. E.L. Cartlidge.
Born on May 20th, 1842, she had lived in Texas and Oklahoma since 1883.
She is survived by four daughters as follows: Mrs. Cartlidge of Malakoff; Mrs. W.R. Dulaney, Houston, Texas; Mrs. C.C. Latta, Broken Bow, Oklahoma and Mrs. J.O. O'Neal, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; two grandsons, Gordon Dubose, Malakoff and Bruce Dubose, Carlisle, Texas.
She had been a member of the Baptist church for many years
d/o William and Nancy Norris Yarbrough both of Georgia.
Married Shelton P Lamb 3 Aug 1872 Newton Co., GA the son of Jesse Lamb and Patience Elizabeth Landers.
