Cpl. U.S. Army, WW2-Cpl. Hagney was killed in action while serving in Germany on 4-2-1945 with an Armored Unit.
After graduating from Galva H.S., 1944, Cpl. Hagney enlisted in the Army on July 11,1944, and did his training at Fort Knox, Kentucky, and was in Europe by January of 1945. He is the son of Mr. & Mrs. L.A. Hagney, Sr. of Galva, Illinois, and leaves one brother, Jerry Hagney of Galva.
Awards: Purple Heart Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, European Campaign Medal with Two Battle Stars, WWII Victory Medal.
