---Funeral services for Rhoda M. Stockham Miller, 78, of Kirksville, formerly of Knox County, will be held at two o'clock Sunday afternoon (May 4, 1986) in Hudson-Rimer View Chapel, Kirksville. The Rev. Luke Turnbough of Edina will conduct the services. Music will be provided by Mr. and Mrs. Robert Poore, singing, "The Lord's Prayer: and "Just A Closer Walk With Thee." Burial will be in Park View Memorial Gardens, Kirksville.
---Mrs. Miller died at 11:06 Friday morning (May 2, 1986) in Kirksville Osteopathic Medical Center.
---The daughter of George W. and Louisa C. Warren Barnes, she was born May 14, 1907 at Elmer. On April 11, 1928 at Brashear, she was married to Carl Eugene Stockham who preceded her in death on August 17, 1980. On June 3, 1983 she was married to Ralph Werner Miller who preceded her in death on July 7, 1985. Also preceding her in death was one brother, James Otha Barnes.
---Surviving are one son, Kenneth E. Stockham of Festus; one daughter, Mary Jeanne Gelbach of Kirksville; one brother, Oral W. Barnes of Warsaw; two sisters, Mrs. Theodore (Faye) Johnston of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and Mrs. David (Ivie) Miller of the state of Tennessee; five grandchildren, Vickie Mann, Judy Hay, Kent Stockham, Terri Kriegshauser and Marianne Gelbach and three great-grandchildren.
---Mrs. Miller was reared in the Gibbs community where she attended the Prairie Bird School. Later she taught in the Prairie during 1927-28. After her marriage, she and her husband managed a general store at Locust Hill. They then moved to Edina where they operated a service station known as Carl's Snappy Service and later opened the first Dairy Queen in Edina. They returned to the Novelty community where they were engaged in farming until their retirement. At that time they moved to Kirksville to make their home.
