OBITUARY Iron River Reporter Dec 21 1983 "Obituaries: Carl Ryden"
IRON RIVER TOWNSHIP-Carl Ryden, 86, died at Humana Hospital in Hoffman Estates, Ill. on Dec. 16.
He was born Sept.26, 1897 in Vast Marland, Sweden and came to the United States in the 1920s to settle in Stambaugh. He moved to Iron River Township and was employed at the Davidson Mine until it closed. He then became self-employed until his retirement. For the past 10 years he lived with his daughter in Battle Creek, and for the past year was a patient at Moonlake Convalescent Village in Hoffman Estates. He married the former Lila Williams in 1932. She died in 1951.
Surviving are four sons, William of Streamwood, Ill., Conrad of Goldsboro, N.C., Geron of Wilmington, N.C. and Lloyd of Milwaukee; two daughters, Mrs. Daniel (Lila) Montambo of Battle Creek and Mrs. Donald (Karen) Dupri of Lake Isabella, Calif.; one brother Knute Ryden of Sweden; 11 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Visitation was held Monday, Dec. 19 at Brooks-Langenberg Funeral Home of Stambaugh.
Services were held Tuesday, Dec. 20 at the funeral home. The Rev. David VanKley, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, officiaited.
Burial was in Resthaven Cemetery.

IRON RIVER-Recorded vocal selections at the services on Dec. 20 for Carl Ryden, 86, who died Dec. 16, were "How Great Thou Art" and "You'll Never Walk Alone." Brooks-Langenberg Funeral Home of Stambaugh was in charge of arrangements.
OBITUARY of Charles Swanson 1975 (buried Restland Cemetery, Illinois) says Mrs Carl Ryden of Meriden IL is his daughter; Carl would be his son-in-law.
