Jacob McQueen was born on February 9, 1845 in Indiana. At age 15 he was living in Salt Creek, Monroe, Indiana. He spent the majority of his life as a farmer in Flat Rock Township, Bartholomew County Indiana.

On March 24, 1867 he was married to Elizabeth 'Lizzie' Aikin McQueen in Bartholomew County. Jacob and Lizzie were second cousins. He and Lizzie had 4 daughters, Hattie Florence, Lillian A., Jane 'Jennie", and Sarah K. They also had three sons: Lewis D, Hardin Roy, and Hernon Ray.

Jacob died May 4, 1919 in Richmond, Indiana.

His wife Elizabeth Aikin McQueen was born October 18, 1847 in Flat Rock, Bartholomew, Indiana and died August 27, 1929.

Lillian A McQueen Ewing, their daughter was married to William Francis "Frank' Ewing of Shelby County. They were also buried in the Center Cemetery.


NOTE:
Jacob & Elizabeth are the great grandparents of Actor, Steve McQueen.

OBIT:

Word has been received here that Jacob McQueen, formerly of this city, died at his home in Richmond Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, death resulting from heart trouble. Further information regarding his death and the funeral have not been received by relatives here, although they are expecting communications at any time.

Mr. McQueen lived in this city about six years ago and was an active church worker, being especially noted for his endeavors in Orinoco, where he resided and where he was a superintendent in the United Brethren Sunday school. Mr. McQueen was an uncle of Mrs. Howard J. Tooley, and is related to several people in the rural district near Columbus. White nothing definite has been learned about the funeral it is supposed that it will be held Tuesday afternoon at Shelbyville.
