MRS. JENNIE MAY AUSTIN
Mrs. Jennie May Austin, wife of C. Edgar Austin of North Bennington, died Monday morning a Putnam Memorial Hospital where she had been a patient for about two weeks.
Born in North Bennington on April 29, 1886, she was the daughter of Edwin and Ellen (Royce) Colvin, also lifetime residents of North Benningon and one of the oldest families in North Benningon.
She was educated in the North Bennington schools and in February, 1905, was married to C. Edgar Austin. Mr. Austin is remembered as the motorman on the Berkshire Street Railway here. He was also affliated with the Cushman Mfg. Co. for a short time and has been janitor at he North Bennington High School for the past 20 years.
Mrs. Austin leavs, in addition to her husband; three sons, Charles E., Edwin J. both of North Bennington and Ralph H. Austin of Wallingford; three brothers, Sidney J. Colvin, Albert H. Colvin and William C. Colvin, all of Bennington; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the home of Mrs. Austin's son, Charles, on Houghton street in North Bennington after this afternoon. Funeral services will be held from his home at 2 pm Wednesday with the REv. Alfred Scott, pastor of the North Bennington Baptist Church, officiating.
Interment will be in the Grandview Cemetery in North Bennington.
