Edna L. Nelson, 90, Campbellsville, daughter of the late Joseph Stearman and Mary Elizabeth Easters Stearman, was born in Green County March 26, 1896. She died at 7:06 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 23, 1986, at the Taylor County Hospital in Campbellsville after an illness. She was a member of the Lowell Avenue Baptist Church. She united in marriage to William David Nelson Jan. 22, 1913. He preceded her in death April 7, 1962. To this union six daughters and three sons were born: Pearl Sullivan, Gladys Milby, Mrs. Boyce (Florence) Curry, Mrs. Raymond (Betty) Sharp, Mrs. Kelsay (Thelma) Barnes, Mrs. Howard (Rachael) Durham, David Nelson and Allen Ray Nelson, all of Campbellsville, and James B. Nelson, Louisville. Besides her children, she is survived by 26 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren, several other relatives and many friends. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Ruth Nelson, who died in infancy. Funeral services were at 2 p.m., Monday, Aug. 25, at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville by the Rev. Gene Hall and the Rev. Shiley Beard. Burial was in the Shiloh Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Tom Gupton, Robert Bright, Lilburn Hedgespeth, Royal Jones, Elwood Roberts, and Gene Newcomb. Honorary pallbearers were: Elza Cox, Robert Skaggs, Floyd Hash, Grady Bloyd, Hollis Brockman and Gene Billeter.
