Clifford J. "C.J." Vaught, 83, of Marshall, died Sunday, Oct. 5, 2008, at North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley, Colo.
Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 9, 2008, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall, with graveside services to follow at Salt Fork Cemetery in Cooper County, with Rev. Jim Case officiating. Memorials may be made to family choice.
Born April 26, 1925, in Marshall, he was the son of the late Clifford Thomas Vaught and Lois Leah Johnson Vaught. On Nov. 5, 1976, he married Juanita Pearl Cunningham Riley, who survives of the home. He had lived in Marshall most of his life and was retired from ConAgra in Marshall after 35 years of service. He was baptized at Community of Christ Church.
Additional survivors include two daughters, Cheryl (Vaught) Hackett and her husband, Don, of Greeley and Paulette (Phillips) Veach and her husband, Jim, of Pleasant Hope; one stepson, Carl Wilson and his wife, Gloria, of Nelson; 22 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Vernon Vaught of Elkton; one sister, Norma Shafer of Marshall; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Cassie Clause, Wanda Kinkade and Vivian Garrison; one stepdaughter, Carolyn Sue "Susie" Evans; and one great-grandson, Michael Jaden Blackenter.
