He was electrocuted at Auburn State Prison on March 30, 1908 and buried at Soule Cemetery. The official registry card says only "unmarked grave" and the location identified by people who attended the trial is not clear. Most people maintain that his unmarked grave is under the road in the upper part of the cemetery. The story of the 1906 Big Moose Lake murder case was the basis for Theodore Dreiser's "An American Tragedy" and the movie "A Place in the Sun." (bio by: Ron Buchinski)
