John M. Hughes funeral services held at Magee
MAGEE - Funeal (sic Funeral) services were held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday from the Mims Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel for John Mathew Hughes, 83, of Rt. 1, Magee, who died Monday at Simpson County Hospital.
The Rev. J.M. Myers officiated. Interment was in Sharon Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Truitt Kennedy, Eber Maddox, Ralph Dollars, Eugene Kennedy , Jerome Maddox and Carlos Dollar.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lucy Layton Hughes of Magee; three sons, David Hughes of Mendenhall, O.J. and Daniel Hughes, both of Magee; four step-sons, Sam Little of Shreveport, La., Howard Little of Mize Ralph Little of Star, and Charmer Little of Selma, Ala.; 14 grandchildren and 13 greatgrandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Pernicie Lyons of Magee.
