Boxer. Born Roberto Caminero Pérez, in 1963 he won the gold medal at the Pan American Games in Sao Paulo, Brazil, becoming the first Cuban to be Pan American Champion. He participated in the Central American Games in San Juan de Puerto Rico in 1966 winning his gold medal, which was later stripped. Upon returning to Cuba, was received by Fidel Castro who was awarded him the "Dignity Medal". He also participated in the 1968 Mexico Olympic Games. He was popularly known as "Chocolatico Pérez".
