Mrs. Whelmina Mahle, 99, of Highland township, one of Clarion county's oldest residents, died at 6:05 a.m. today in the Oil City hospital where she had been a patient since December 1.
She was born near Fryburg on March 8, 1844, the daughter of Henry and Catherine Kapp.
She married Paul Mahle who preceeded her in death a number of years ago.
For the past 65 years Mrs. Mahle had resided on a farm near Miola. Mrs. Mahle was a member of the Miola Presbyterian church.
She is survived by two sons Orthe, O. and William Mahle of Highland township, eight grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Miola Presbyterian church with Rev. Harvey Logan, pastor of the church, officiating.
Interment will be in the Miola cemetery.
