SUSAN LINDSAY STEPHENSON

Susan (Lindsay) Stephenson passed away on August 25, 2010, at Bay Area Medical Center after a short, unexpected illness. She was born September 30, 1933, in Escanaba Mich. Her parents were Harold and Merle Lindsay.
Susan grew up in Escanaba and was a popular girl with her 4th birthday party making the local paper.

She graduated in Escanaba High School's class of 1951. She attended Lake Forest College in Illinois for two years. Later she worked for Harris Trust in Chicago. She also spent a summer as a waitress in a tea shop on Mackinac Island.

November 26, 1966 saw her marry Captain Isaac W. Stephenson III in Escanaba. They were the love of each others lives until his passing in February of this year. They had one child, Isaac IV, born in 1971.

Susan was as passionate about golf as her husband was about sailing. She was a member of Riverside Country Club and North Shore Golf Club. She played many rounds at both clubs. Especially enjoyable was her play in the Golden Duffers league. She also enjoyed bridge and celebrated hundreds of birthdays with special friends in a birthday club. J&B, Rob Roy, Duncan, Angus and currently Piper were the names of her cherished Scottish Terrier companions. Susan was at her most animated when viewing the Packers for whom she rooted above all other teams. Red was her color and many will remember her red convertibles, and red outfits. Susan was a passionate and classy lady who can now be reunited with her husband so that their partnership can continue.

Susan is survived by her son, Isaac and his wife, Jennifer of Cameron, N.C.; sisters: Martha of Escanaba, Mich. and Joan of Fort Atkinson, Wis. She was preceded in death by husband, Isaac.

Funeral services for Sue were held at the Cadieu-Thielen funeral home on Saturday, August 28, 2010 at 6 p.m. The Rev. Phil Tousley officiated.
