SUTKUS Lorraine Altwater Sutkus, 89, of Ft. Lauderdale, FL., passed away at her home Tuesday evening, November 19, 2002. She was born August 19, 1913 in Buffalo, NY. Her first husband, John P. Altwater, and one daughter, Nancy A. Weisacosky of Mt. Vernon MO. preceded her in death. There was a memorial service held in her home on Sunday, November 24 with the Rev. A. Pugh officiating. Burial will take place at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Buffalo NY. Mrs. Sutkus became involved with her first husband's business, Interstate Motor Freight System after his death in 1950. For a number of years, she was president of System Realty Company and System Equipment and Service, both in Grand Rapids, MI. In 1957, she left New York State in order to move to Ft. Lauderdale Fl. In 1964, she married V. William Sutkus of Buffalo. Mrs. Sutkus was a business woman with many philanthropic endeavors. She was a contributor to community foundations in three states, a strong supporter of St. Judes, Shriners, as well as Bascom Palmer Institute of Research. Her interest and efforts always went toward the welfare and education of children. Survivors include her husband of thirty-eight years, William Sutkus; two daughters, Susan A. Kreiser of Ft. Pierce, FL, Carol A. Roszell of Mt. Vernon MO. and Denver CO; eight grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren
