Dorothy Elvina Stevens passed away peacefully Saturday, Aug. 28, 2010, in Franklin. She was a longtime resident of Franklin.
She was born June 12, 1916, in Johnson County. She was the daughter of Otis and Daisy (Ratliff) Wagerman.
She married Raymond Stevens on Aug. 8, 1940. He preceded her in passing in 1991.
Survivors include a son, William Stevens of Franklin; two daughters, Verna (husband Ronald) Shacklett of Franklin and Carroll (husband John) Nahre of Muncie; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in passing by her parents; her husband; a grandson, Jimmy Lindsey; and six siblings, Pearl Gaffney, Mary Richardson, Sally Peavler, Herschel Wagerman, Homer Wagerman and Samuel Wagerman.
Dorothy attended schools in Johnson and Morgan counties. She was a housekeeper for many families in the Johnson County area.
Dorothy loved birds, flowers, all things in nature and bingo.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Greenlawn Cemetery, 100 W. South St., Franklin.
Flinn & Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 N. Morton St. (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin is handling arrangements.
