Martha Elizabeth Haden, 77, of Amarillo died Thursday, Aug. 26, 2010.
Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Hansford County Cemetery. Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. in Saint Stephen United Methodist Church in Amarillo with the Rev. Ken Cole, associate pastor, officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Mrs. Haden was born Dec. 5, 1932, in Texhoma, Okla., to Norbon and Pearl Cayton. She married Billie Haden on Dec. 21, 1952. She lived in Spearman for 57 years before moving to Amarillo in 2000.
Mrs. Haden was a member of First United Methodist Church in Spearman and upon moving to Amarillo she joined Saint Stephen United Methodist Church, where she sang in the S.T.A.R.S Choir, Celebration Singers and was a pianist for the Cherubs.
As a season ticket holder, Mrs. Haden enjoyed both the Amarillo Symphony and Broadway Series. She loved watching and being involved with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Billie Haden, on June 13, 1999; and a brother, James Cayton.
Survivors include two sons, Jimmy Haden and wife Kym of Frisco and Billy Haden and wife Lynn of Amarillo; a brother, Wallie Cayton and wife Jane of Amarillo; a sister, Mary Jane DeArmond of Roswell, N.M.; and five grandchildren, Sadie Anderson of Sunray, Cami Haden and Roy Haden, both of Amarillo, and Cooper Haden and Chase Haden, both of Frisco.
The family suggests memorials be to BSA Hospice, P.O. Box 950, Amarillo, TX 79105; or Saint Stephen United Methodist Church, Music Ministry, 4600 S. Western St., Amarillo, TX 79109.
