Mrs. Mamie Edna Hatcher McAfee, 79, formerly of Greenback, died at 8:10 p.m. Saturday at the home of her son, Charles McAfee, Waters Road, Maryville, where she made her home. She leaves 113 descendants.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Andrew McAfee, and two daughters, Dorothy Mae and Imogene.
Other survivors include sons, William A. Jr. of Ohio, James of Maryville; daughters, Mrs. John (Lucille) Clampet of Alcoa, Mrs. Juanita Chapman of Ohio, Mrs. Bill (Rosa Lea) Brannon of Maryville, Mrs. Lester (Ruth) Smith of Greenback, Mrs. Raymond (Barbara) McCulloch of Maryville, Mrs. Bruce (JoAnn) Willocks, Mrs. Bobby (Faye) Felty, both of Greenback, Mrs. Joel (Ruby) Ogle of Maryville; 48 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren; brother, James Ira Hatcher of Ohio.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Salem Baptist Church with the Rev. J.D. Nuchols and the Rev. Fred H. Garner officiating. Interment will be in Carpenter Cemetery. The body will be taken to the church one hour before the service. The family will receive friend from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today at McCammon-Ammons Funeral Home.
