Funeral Services Held For Joseph F. Dunder -
Joseph F. Dunder was born in Bohemia, April 16, 1864 and passed away at his home in Palmer, Nebraska on the evening of November 10, 1947 at the age of 83 years, 6 months and 25 days. He came to the United States from his native land at the age of ten years and located at Crete, Nebraska.
He was united in marriage to Miss Anna C. Sedlacek at Crete, Nebraska in February 1892 and they established their home in Merrick County. To this union 5 children were born, all who survive. They are: Mrs. Ruth E. Hoover of Washington DC, Mrs. Arline O. Wolfe of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Mrs. Edith J. Zimmerman of Kearney, Nebraska, Joseph B. Dunder of Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Charles N. Dunder of St. Libory, Nebraska. Also surviving are seven granddaughters and two grandsons; three sisters and three brothers, Mrs. Mary Bauer of Hubbell, Nebraska, Mrs. Bessie Rice of California, Mrs. Lucy Mahacek of Lawton, Michigan, Emil Dunder of Lincoln, Nebraska, Fred Dunder of Prague, Nebraska, and Steve Dunder of Wilber, Nebraska; and a large number of friends.
Mr. Dunder was a pioneer of Nebraska and went through the usual hardships of pioneer life where he worked faithfully to carve a home for himself and his family. In later years he loved to reminisce over his experiences of the early days.
