On March 20, 1861, she was united in marriage to Jas. Armstrong and settled on a farm in the Belmont community.
To this union nine children were born, four of whom, with the husband, have preceded her in death, namely: William, Clarinda, Flora and Walter.
Early in life she united with the Methodist Episcopal church and was a true and faithful christian, an affectionate wife and a loving mother.
April 4, 1902, she with her husband moved to Seaton, Ill., where she resided until her death, passing away at 5:20 o'clock, April 15, 1920, age 76 years, 8 months and 7 days.
Her last illness was of a short duration, gradually failing with advancing years. Three weeks ago she was confined to her bed with an attack of bronchitis hastening her departure from this life to the life that knows no pain or anguish.
Those left to mourn her loss are: Ross of Monmouth, Bert of Belmont, Mrs. Louie Armstrong of Keithsburg, Mrs. Della Lane of Aledo and Mrs. Clara Griffith of Seaton. One brother, James Campbell, of Abington, Ill., and one sister, Mrs. Margaret Patterson, of Little York, Ill. Seventeen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held in the Belmont church Friday afternoon, April 16, and interment made in the Belmont cemetery. Services were conducted by Rev. H. T. Jackson of Cambridge, Ill., with Rev. Woods assisting.
A large number of old friends and neighbors of the deceased now living in Keithsburg attended the funeral.
