Fred Zimmerman and actress Vesta Howard, he produced Broadway play: The Measure of a Man (1906), Inside the Lines (1915), Pals First (1917), and This Way Out (1917). He was the manager of the Chestnut Street Theater in Philadelphia and others in the famous Theatrical Syndicate. Later, when his father J. Fred Zimmerman withdrew from the syndicate, he managed vaudville theaters and motion picture theaters. He was married to actress Ethel Jackson and Grace Rankin.
