Joe was a "railroad" man and came to Hamilton County with the Cotton Belt Railroad. For many years he lived in the Cotton Belt section house.

One of his wives was Pinkston Irene Green.

On April 17, 1920, he married Amy Barbee (Hamilton County Marriage Record Bk. 8, pg. 76.

He was the father of seven children.

Joe DeHart died in the Cotton Belt Hospital in Texarkana.

Obituary:

J. T. Dehart, 80, died Friday in Texarkana

Funeral services will be held on Sunday at the Assembly of God church at Hamilton, Texas, with burial in Hamilton Cemetery.

Survivors: Four sons, Arthur Dehart of Plainview, Jack Dehart of Bay City, Mark Dehart of Glove, AZ., and Bill Dehart of Bay City; three daughters, Mrs. Olive Griffee, of Pottsville, Mrs. Eula Corter of Hamlim, Texas, and Mrs. Velma Kincade of Dallas; 12 grandchildren.
