Athens, AL - Effie Nora Davenport, 81, died Wednesday, August 16, 1998, at her home.
The funeral will be today at 2 p.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Ray Greene and Rev. Tim Driggers officiating. Burial will be in Limestone Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Davenport was a member of the Christian Fellowship Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Sarah Roberta Davenport.
Survivors include her husband, Alvis Davenport of Athens; four daughters, Alice Evans and Karen Davenport, both of Athens, and Nancy McCarthy and Linda Rankin, both of Decatur; two sons, George Davenport of Dublin, VA, and Gerald Davenport of Lilburn, GA; three brothers, J. C. Pirtle and Donald Pirtle, both of Athens and Homer Pirtle of Rumford, R.I.; one sister, Leona Loggins of Athens; 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, one step-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
