|Birth: ||Nov. 20, 1855|
The daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth Sheets-Goldsberry.
She first married John W. McLaughlin, Nov.19,1875, in Bloomfield, Green Co, IN. To this union two children were born: Minnie Edna (md. James Robert Cole)and William Clark (md. 1st Della Pearl Fullom and 2nd Margaret Wessell, after Della died).
She and John divorced when the children were very young.
She remarried to Jeremiah V. Server, March 22, 1886, in Clay City, Clay Co, IN.
To this union two children were born:
Martha (died at or soon after birth)and
George W. (md. Lonnie Belle Fenters-Mock), in Oregon.
When Jeremiah died, she remarried to an un-named Mr. Edwards, as she is found a widow in the 1900 Census for Greene County, Indiana.
At her death, before 1910, her son, George, was taken in by Chief Godfrey (Miami Indian chief) in Peru, Indiana, to live until he was old enough to make the move to Oregon, with his half brother, Clark McLaughlin and his family.
Joseph, as far as I can find, lived his life in Lafayette, Indiana and I have found an 1850 census which verifies this, but I am not sure if this is the correct man, although he is married to an Elizabeth.
Elizabeth was raised near Muncie, Indiana, where her family lived on the Indian Reservation. Her father was 1/2 French trapper and Am. Indian. Her mother being a full blooded Indian. During the "Trail of Tears", they melded in with whites, as they were blue eyed and brown hair, with light skin. Goldsberry and Sheets families lived in the Carroll and Tippecanoe Counties during those hard years for the American Indian.
Joseph Goldsberry is buried in the historic Greenbush cemetery in Lafayette, In. In my gr.grandmothers Bible, she recorded that her grandmother Elizabeth Goldsberry died at 101 yrs of age in Walton, IN. According to census' she made her home with her daughter until her death and for this I believe she is buried in a Logansport, Cass Co, IN cemetery.
