Reba Lois LaRue

Reba Lois LaRue, 89, passed away on Monday, August 23, 2010 at Christus St. Mary Hospital in Port Arthur, Texas.

Reba was born on May 13, 1921 in Lovelady, Texas to Arthur and Ella Bitner. She was a resident of Port Neches for 61 years, and she was married to her husband, Cleland, for nearly 70 years. She was a homemaker who enjoyed quilting, cooking and growing flowers, but her family was her source of pride.

Survivors include husband, C.F. (Cleland) LaRue of Port Neches, one daughter, Karen Cross and husband Tom of Nederland, three sons, Sammy LaRue and wife Sharon, Larry LaRue and wife Debbie, and Barry LaRue, all of Port Neches. She is also survived by one brother, Ray Bitner of Vidor, Texas, and two sisters, Evelyn Faver of Crockett, Texas and Olene Langham of Euless, Texas.

Grandchildren are Dana LaRue of Port Neches, Lance LaRue and wife Michelle of Lumberton, and one great-grandchild, Kate Danielle LaRue, also of Lumberton.

Mrs. LaRue was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 26, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches with Mr. Michael Williams of Nederland Avenue Church of Christ officiating. Entombment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park.

Visitation will be Wednesday, August 25, 2010 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
