Liddy is my 3rd maternal Gr-Grandmother through her daughter Sarah Jane (Frondorf) Shockley (1860-1934).
The oldest of at least five children born to Michael and Mary (Butt) Brown, Liddy is listed on the 1850 Census as living with her parents, so her marriage to Christopher Frondorf took place soon after, about 1851 or 1852. They had five children, one son and four daughters.
Sadly, not much is known about Liddy. She probably died soon after the 1910 Census where I last found her, living in the Poor Farm. Her granddaughter, my Grandma Flora, would have been 8 yrs old in 1910, but it is not certain she even knew her own Grandmother.

It is not yet clear to family why Lydia was in the Poor Farm. In those days, such a place was not just for the poor or homeless. Residents often included orphans, mentally and physically disabled, as well as the aged. By the 1920 Census, Liddy is gone, but no death record has yet been located.
Rest in Peace dear Grandma. You will never be forgotten.
So many thanks to Shannon...without whose help I would not have found Lydia's family. Shannon has been an invaluable help to me and I am happy to have her as a relative and friend. Thanks Shannon!
Many thanks as well to members Bob L and Rob H, who have contributed so much of their time and help. My gratitude to you all.
