"The LaFayette Sun" - November 20, 1935:

R.B. Fetner, age 91 years, passed away at the home of a daughter Mrs. J.T. Irvin, on Monday, October 28. A well-known and loved Confederate Veteran, he lived in Beat 4 for many years. About 15 years ago he left the farm and moved to Shawmut. Interment was at the Rock Spring Cemetery. Surviving are three sons: J.W. Fetner, R.L. Fetner and L.P. Fetner; and four daughters: Mrs. J.T. Irvin, Mrs. R.F. Abernathy, Mrs. E.L. McClure and Mrs. Chriss Jones...

Robert Bruce Fetner was born Feb. 14, 1844 to James Stephen Fetner and Elizabeth Lee Fetner. He served in the Civil war in the 25th Alabama Infantry. He married Sarah Ann Elizabeth Allen on April 12, 1868. Their children were:
