Bessemer City-Darrell Gene Guthrie,66,died Oct. 21,2005,at Carolinas Medical Center,Charlotte.
He was a native of Gaston County,son of the late William Elzie Guthrie and Melba Bumgardner Guthrie.
Darrell was a 1957 graduate of Bessemer City Senior High School and attended N.C.State University.He also graduated from Gastonia Industrial Education Center in 1963.He was employed at Wix for 16 years as a draftsman and later co-owner of Guthrie Machine Shop in Gastonia.He was a member of First Wesleyan Church in Bessemer City and was a faithful servant of the Lord.Darrell was an avid golfer,a loving husband,father and grandfather.His granddaughters and grandson meant the world to him.
PRECEDED IN DEATH BY:In addition to his parents,a niece,Cynthia Guthrie
