Beloved son of John Hearst and Elizabeth Knox Hearst. He was the husband of Martha Carson Hearst. Their children were Margaret Hearst, Robert Hearst, William G Hearst, Mary Hearst, Jane Hearst, Martha Hearst, Lewis Hearst and Sarah Hearst. Their son William G. Hearst, was the father of George F. Hearst, mining tycoon, and grandfather of William Randolph Hearst, Sr., of the Hearst Corporation and Newspaper mogul.
