I think we all eventually reach a point in our lives when we realize that we've done everything we possibly can.
We've taught every lesson we could. We've made amends with all or any we had ever harmed or, harmed us.
We professed our love, tolerance and acceptance through words or actions to all people who were placed in our lives.
We showed by example that laughter is good, and being humble is even better. That random acts of kindness create more of a high than any drug or drink.
Now, with these accomplishments in place, we can turn to God and ask him to take over from there.
The how, when and why that happens after that is, and will always remain a mystery to us.
I believe that It is only through this process that one can truly "Rest In Peace".
Thank you God for allowing our mom to die gracefully, with her dignity intact, at peace with all, among family, and leaving behind an eternal legacy of pure values for the generations who follow that will strive to attain, and challenge themselves to live up to.
Some words from her celebration of life memorial service.
Eleanor Roosevelt once said:
"THE PURPOSE OF LIFE, AFTER ALL, IS TO LIVE IT, TO TASTE EXPERIENCE TO THE UTMOST, TO REACH OUT EAGERLY AND WITHOUT FEAR FOR NEWER AND RICHER EXPERIENCES"
and live life, our mom did.
From traveling to a tiny south pacific island called Roratonga, to jetting off to Switzerland just to join me for dinner at a little fondue restaurant I had told her about.
But the simple, humble mom is who I'll remember the most, like camping out in the back yard staring up at the stars being sung to sleepů"found a peanut, found a peanut, found a peanut yeasterday..." Now there's one more star to look up at. Pleasant journeys Mom.
