Sarah Johns Blight, b. abt January 8, 1841 near St. Ives, Cornwall, UK, was the wife of James Richards, a Cornish miner who family narrative says died abt 1875 after emigrating, possibly to America or Africa. His widow Sarah then emigrated to New York with their four children. It appears that she came to the US with her father and was using her maiden name, Blight.
Sarah is supposed to have died either near her son William in Norwalk, CT, or her daughter Kate in Saugerties, NY, and is buried in Mountain View Cemetery.
Her stone was described in the cemetery inventory as "fallen, overgrown" and, on my second visit, I was able to find it, almost completely overgrown, and pulled back the vegetation and soil, as you can see in the photo here.
