Mr. Davis was born June 16, 1920, the son of Willie Davis and Lena A. Davis. He was a retired truck driver with the Williamsburg County, was a member of the Oak Ridge Hunting Club. He attended the Oak Ridge Pentecostal Holiness Church. He was a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather.
He was predeceased by his parents; son, Samuel Rhodus Davis Jr.; and two brothers, Carl Davis and Junior Davis.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 67 years, are a son, Jimmy Ray (Lois) Davis of Andrews; two daughters, Lillian (Preston) Powell and Polly (Arthur) Lambert, all of Andrews; a daughter-in-law, Debbie Davis-High, a sister, Mary Alice Michau of Andrews; two grandchildren of the home, Sammie Davis and Travis Davis; six other grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
