KNOX CITY - Myrtie Ethel Barnard, 96, died Thursday in a local nursing home after a long illness.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in O'Brien Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Trice officiating. Burial will be in O'Brien Cemetery, directed by Smith Funeral Home.
Mrs. Barnard was born in Chester and was a lifelong resident of Haskell and Knox counties. She was a homemaker. She was a Baptist and was the widow of Claude "Sip" Barnard, whom she married in 1923 in Rule.
Survivors include one son, Claudale Barnard of Knox City; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
