Mr. Greene passed away December 23, 2009. Revs. Bob Ivey and Nobel Russell will officiate with burial at Rainbow Memorial Gardens. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services directing.
Norris was born and raised in North Carolina, but lived in Gadsden for nearly 40 years. After retirement from Overnite Transportation Company with over 30 years of service, he moved to Fyffe, AL.
He was a man of many talents and numerous hobbies. He loved his family and his friends. He knew the Lord was calling him and he was ready to go.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Rebecca Greene.
Mr. Norris is survived by his wife, Martha Ridgeway Greene; daughters, Karen (Keith) Sims, Donna (Gary) Hodge; son, Richard (Connie) Greene; grandchildren, Heather (Jeremy) McFarling, Jennifer (Ben) Salter, Matthew (Jodie) Brown, Kurtis Hodge, Laken Greene, Leah Greene, Lindsey Greene; 9 great-grandchildren; step-son, Michael (Melinda) Ridgeway; step-daughter, Sherry (Jim) Gross; step-grandchildren, Jessica (Ricky) Talkington, Season (Lee) McKelvey, Bobby (Amanda) Ridgeway, Martha Saucedo; 5 step-great-grandchildren; brother, Joe( Mary Frances) Greene of Charlotte, NC; and sisters, Hazel (Worth) Bridges of Tifton, GA, and Lib (Gerald) Jones of Shelby, NC.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Brown, Kurtis Hodge, Ricky Talkington, Bobby Ridgeway, Matt Garbe, and Barry Putman.
