Original Dawes enrollee #2608 of the Choctaw Nation. She was the daughter of Joshua Bohanon and Serena Chastain.

Emma was orphaned about age 14 and was sent to Wheelock Academy for Girls near Garvin, OK. Upon graduation she became a foster child of Judge H. C. Harris and later married her husband Rafe (Raphael) Wilson at the Judge's home. She met Rafe while she was caring for the children of his brother, Edward, who was a Choctaw superintindent of the Wheelock Academy until 1898 prior to statehood.

OBITUARY
Mrs. Emma Jane Wilson, 94, of Valliant, died Thursday morning (November 15, 1971) in her home. Services were at 10:00 a.m. Saturday in the Valliant Methodist Church with the Rev.
Charles Hannah officiating. Burial was in the Valliant Cemetery.

Mrs. Wilson was born Jan. 29, 1877 in Eagletown and moved to Valliant in 1898 from Hugo. [Parents were Joshua Bohanon and Serena Chastain, one of the founding families of the the old Red River County of the Choctaw Nation.]
She was a charter member of the First Methodist Church in Valliant.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Eleanor Floyd and Mrs. Toru Herndon, both of Valliant; six grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 19 great, great-grandchildren.
