| Birth: | 1854 | | Death: | 1942 |  Amos Hascall Chivington, called "Chiv," was born in Elkhart County, Indiana, 24 June 1854.
His father was John Chivington (1805 -1861) and his mother Elizabeth Dillon (1813 -1901). On 31 July 1880, in Kearney, Nebraska, Amos married Cordelia Henry. After her death, on 25 October 1905, in Routt County, Colorado, he married Grace Decker Remington, who shares his grave marker.
He was appointed Sheriff of Routt County in 1908 to fill out the term of E. A. Farnham and elected sheriff in his own right in the fall of 1909; he served in that office until 1916. He served as Routt County Commissioner from 1920 to 1924. Amos died in Denver, Colorado. -- provided by B. W. in Normal, Illinois.
