Sherman Howard Balding was the son of Joel Corbin Balding and Dora (Lindsay) Balding. His first wife was Carmen Rigg.





Sherman Balding, 80, Bridgeport Terrace Nursing Home, died there at 12:50 a.m. CST today.

A repairman for Smith Sales for 30 years, he was a member of the Christian Church in Albion.

Born Oct. 9, 1908, in Albion, he was the son of Joel and Dora (Linsdsay) Balding.

Surving are his first wife, Carmen (Rigg) Balding of Wisconsin; his second wife, Lillian (Price) Balding of West Virginia; five sons, Howard of Lawrenceville, Robert of Lake Mills, Wis., Allen of Bassett, Wis., Marion of Griffith, Ind., and William of California; a brother, Duane Balding of Newburgh, Ind.; three ' sisters, Florence Walters of Wyoming, Lula Yeagly of Albion, and Margaret Troops of Farmington, Mo.; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Two sisters are deceased.

Arrangements are pending at Emmons-Macey Funeral Home.
