Born Oct. 7, 1949 in Torrington,she was the daughter of the late Reynolds and Helen (Yurashus) Smith. Susan was a graduate of St. Francis School in Torrington and Torrington High School, Class of 1967. She was employed by Cigna in Glastonbury as a systems analyst.
As a person who put God first in her life for all things, she was a member of the First Assembly of God Church, sang in the church choir, was a Sunday school teacher and enjoyed her time with all of the church activities. She also enjoyed knitting, walking, scrapbooking and cooking for her family and friends.
She is survived by her two brothers, Reynolds Smith of Chama, NM, Gerrard Smith of Torrington; her loving caregivers, her sister Joann Hohensee of Harwinton, and longtime close friend Thomas Kess; a nephew Michael Hohensee, Jr. as well as several nieces.
