George Alexander, 78, died June 6, 1987, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center. Services are 11 a.m. today at Mendenhall United Methodist Church with burial in Mendenhall Cemetery. Upton Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
Mr. Alexander was a veteran of World War II and was awarded five battle stars. He was a member of Mendenhall Masonic Lodge, a former city alderman and a longtime Chevrolet dealer.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Marian Alexander; daughter, Miss Georgianna Alexander of Jackson; sons, David Alexander of Huntsville, Texas; and sisters, Mrs. Edwina Belding of Mendenhall and Mrs. Sammie Cheshire of Jackson.
