Michael Dean Summers, 59, of Rigby, died Saturday, Aug. 14, 2010, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

Michael was born June 2, 1951, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, a son to Dean Lamar and Beth Irene Swensen Summers.

He attended schools in Ririe, graduating from Ririe High School. After high school, he attended Ricks College and Eastern Idaho Vocational Technical School in Idaho Falls. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a mission in Ireland.

He married Brenda VanLeuven, and they later divorced. On March 31, 1995, he married Olivia Del Rosario in Manila, Philippines. He worked at Idaho National Laboratory as a tool crib attendant. He enjoyed golfing, fishing with his sons and doing crossword puzzles.

He is survived by his wife, Olivia of Rigby; children, Irene Summers of Rigby, and Kenneth D. (Lisa) Summers, Terry Lee Summers and Paul Scott (Jennifer) Summers, all of Idaho Falls; siblings, Peggy (Alan) Bingham of Casa Grande, Ariz., Janet (David) Evans of Rexburg, Carl (Vivian) Summers of Highland, Texas, and Joseph (Sharon) Summers of Priest River; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
