She was a native of Buncombe County but lived most of her life in Henderson County. She retired from Diamond Brand after 24 years of service with most of that time in supervision. She was one of the oldest living members of Hoopers Creek Baptist Church.
Known as Mamaw to all who loved her, she will be missed dearly by her family, neighbors and friends. Her memories will never die as we think back to all those Sunday dinners, canned foods and beautiful hand-made quilts. Her home was always warm and open to everyone. Her greatest joy was to give, as she received from the Lord. No one who entered ever left Mamaws and Papaws house hungry.
