Mr. Jack Williamson, Sr., age 83 of Lyons, died Monday, August 16, 2010 in the Community Hospice House in Vidalia after an extended illness. He was a native of Toombs County, and had lived most of his life in Emanuel County. He was a retired farmer and was chosen as the Soil and Water Conservationist "Man of the Year in 1973. He was an Air Force Veteran of the Korean Conflict where he served for four years and was a Staff Sergeant. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Lyons, and was preceded in death by his first wife of twenty-five years, Wyolene Wood Williamson, a son, Jack Williamson, Jr., and his parents, M.L. and Dora Lee Mosley Williamson.
Mr. Williamson is survived by his wife of twenty-eight years, Ann Hall Williamson of Lyons, one son, Bryce Wilkerson of Kite, a daughter-in-law, Kim Williamson of Lyons, two grandsons, Thomas Williamson of Kibbee and Cody Williamson of Lyons.
Graveside funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 18th at 10:00 am in the Pinecrest Cemetery with Reverend Walter Jarrell and Dr. Mark Wiggins officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
