Mrs. Charlie Burrow Dies Suddenly at Home of Daughter in Canton
The many friends of Mrs. Charlie Burrow were shocked and deeply grieved when the word came early Monday afternoon that she had died of a heart attack at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. S. T. Stamps of Canton, where she had gone to be with her daughter, who was a patient in a local hospital. Mrs. Burrow suffered an attack Saturday when members of the family were called to her bedside. Sunday she seemed to be better, so members of the family returned home. Just after her physician had called Monday and found her, seemingly improving, she suffered the fatal attack.
Funeral services were held from Bethany church at 3 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, with interment following in the near-by Tyrone Cemetery. Her pastor, Rev. H. W. Chaney, officiated at the final rites.
Mrs. Burrow was 67 years of age, and was born and reared in the county, being a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Lott Tyrone. She was quiet and retiring by nature, but those who knew her intimately appreciated her true worth as a fine, Christian woman, devoted to her home, family and friends.
She leaves two daughters, Mrs. S. T. Stamps of Canton and Mrs. Percy Lee, Jr. of Forest; four sons, Clyde Burrow, Hattiesburg; Parker Burrow, Laurel; John C. and M. L. Burrow, Prentiss. Also surviving are a brother, John H. Tyrone of Denver, Colorado, and three sisters, Mrs. W. B. Speights and Mrs. Alma Cranford of Prentiss, and Mrs. Fred Thompson of Jackson.
