Dorothy L. Gahimer, 76, Blue Ridge, died Friday at St. Francis Hospital, Beech Grove. Born on Jan. 26, 1915, in Rush County, she was the daughter of George and Addie (Rader) Gahimer. A Blue Ridge resident for 60 years, she was a member of Homer Christian Church and worked at Elan-Jay Corp. for many years, retiring in 1975. Survivors are a son, Otis “Sunny” Gahimer, Blue Ridge; three sisters, Mrs. Charles (Isabell) Smith, Shelbyville, Mrs. Gladys Cass, Fountaintown, and Mrs. Thelma Fox, Blue Ridge; a brother, L.G. “Ike” Gahimer, Blue Ridge; three grandsons; and two great-granddaughters. Five brothers and three sisters preceded her in death. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Carmony-Ewing Harrison Street Funeral Home with the Rev. James Farnsley officiating. Burial will be in Blue Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
