Ida was the daughter of William Leander Hager & Elizabeth Ellen Hurd. She married Alvis Emory Freeman and they had three children: Robert Clint, William Leander, and Lois Marion Freeman. Although she was sometimes called Ida Mae, she did not have a middle name. She lived almost her entire adult life in Culloden, WV.
