SYRACUSE – Lester Elmer Blanchard, 86 passed away May 24, 2004 at the Rocky Mountain Care Center.
He was born February 25, 1918 to William Henry and Lovina Jones Blanchard. He served in the US Army during World War II, seeing action in France, Germany and Austria.
Lester married Lila Rhea Gentry on August 24, 1942 in Duchesne, UT. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on April 25, 1969. They were married for 61 years. He was a member of the LDS Church. He loved fishing hunting and enjoyed gardening.
He is survived by his wife, and four children, Raymond Blanchard, Brigham City, UT; Barbara B. (Robert) Smith, Farmington, UT; Lynn L. Blanchard, Las Vegas, NV; and Curtis Jones (Jeanne) Blanchard, Washington. He is also survived by one sister, Lila Dayley; 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, 3 siblings and a granddaughter, Kimberly.
