Birth: Jun. 6, 1797
Burke County
North Carolina, USA
Death: Jun. 23, 1856
Marion County
Arkansas, USA

John Robert Hargrave Jr. son of John Robert and Kathryn McNeal Hargrave Sr. married in NC to Nancy Jane Talburt daughter of Frederick Benton and Elizabeth Wilhite Talburt. This couple soon followed the Talburt family to the AR territory.

His father, John Robert Hargrave, Sr., Revolutionary War patriot #S37978came to AR to visit and was counted for the 1830 AR census as a member of the John Robert Hargrave Jr. household. A publication Shakers and Movers stated that John Robert Hargrave Sr. was in his 80s and one of the oldest men in the AR territory.

John and Nancy had a family of nine children all living and dying in the Izard, Baxter, Marion counties areas of AR.

No burial site has been established for Nancy Jane Talburt Hargrave. She died 15 Nov 1879 in Mr. Home, Baxter Co., AR and since the Messick-Young Cemetery is located in Mt. Home, perhaps she is also buried in this same cemetery along side her husband.

This burial record is noted in the publication "Of Grave Importance: The cemeteries of Baxter County" by Baxter County Historical Society 1994. page 275.

Daughter Elizabeth Hargrave Cooper #55571052 is buried in the Mt. Home Cemetery, Mt. Home, AR.

Son, Frederick Talburt Hargrave is buried in Conley Cemetery, Baxter Co., AR. #55571107 HIs wife Kiezah "Kizzie" Morgan Hargrave #27048894 is buried in the Conley Cemetery, also.

Daughter, Catherine Hargrave Wolf, died in Norfork, AR in 1862 but it is not known where she was buried. Her husband also died in Norfork in about 1887. Both may be buried near what was referred to as the Double Springs on property owned by Martin Jefferson Wolf. She and her sister, Nancy Jane, married Wolf brothers.

Son, John Robert Hargrave, b. 1827 died 12 Mar 1845 in Mt. Home, AR so he is probably buried in one of the many unmarked gravesites where his parents are buried, Messick-Young Cemetery in Mt. Home, Arkansas or possibley the Conley Cemetery where many other Hargrave family members are also buried.

Som, Walter P. Hargrave #27049609 is buried in the Conley Cemetery, Mt. Home, AR.

Son, Simeon Wilhoit Hargrave #33579023 died in 1891 in Mt. Home. He was a CSA vetran. He is most likely in either the Conley or Messeck-Young Cemetery. His wife Mary Frances Yaokum #33578993 is also buried with her husb and in Talburt/Casey Cemetery in Mt. Home, Baxter Co., AR.
