OBITUARY
W.J. Settles, 78, farmer of Union county, died at his home near Loyston on Saturday. he had been ill two months with heart disease. Born in Virginia, Mr. Settles was the son of Perry and Martha Settles. He is survived by six sons, Taylor, Henry, James, Jerome, Albert and Dewey Settles. The Rev. Shade Brooks officiated at the funeral services held at the Byron Fork Church. Burial was in Hutchison Cemetery.
