Helen Louise Piggott Davis, 90, of Cheyenne was welcomed into the Lord's arms on Aug. 12 at Davis Hospice Center after a short illness.
Helen was born on Oct. 19, 1919, in Burlingham, N.Y., to Charles and Lillian Piggott. She married Grover W. Davis on Jan. 28, 1940, and lived in Pine Bush, N.Y., until 1986, when they made their home in Cheyenne.
Helen received her associate degree in library science and worked for the town of Crawford library in Pine Bush for many years until her retirement in 1985. Shortly thereafter the library added on a children's wing honoring Helen for all her dedicated years of service.
Helen was an active member of Grace United Methodist Church and sang in the choir. She was currently the president of the United Methodist Women group, a member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood, Wyoming Federation Women's Club and the Pythian Sisters. Helen was a volunteer at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center for many years and also the United Medical Center at the Home Away from Home.
Helen is survived by daughter, Barbara Seabury of Wisconsin; Joel (Carol) Davis of Pennsylvania; and George Davis of Arizona; grandchildren, Brian (Tracey) Seabury of Arizona, Valerie Tobin of Wisconsin, Lisa Austin of Kansas and Caireen (Robert) DeVaux of Iowa; 18 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, many loving nieces and nephews. She is also survived by special friend, Dorothy Vosler and her family from the ranch including Wayne and Mickey Koster.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Grover; grandson, John A. Seabury; her parents; and all her brothers and sisters.
Helen's life will be celebrated during funeral services at 3:30 p.m. Monday at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel. Interment will follow at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Grace United Methodist Church for the building fund.
