I believe this is where the George and Abraham distinction came from. It may be one person and not two.
The family line becomes somewhat unclear at this point. One account lists the children of Abraham Jr. and Margaret as William, John and Elias. George Hatfield is considered a seperate line by this account. However another account shows Joseph Sr. as the son of Abraham Jr. and Margaret
And yet another account lists Joseph Sr. as the son of George Sr. Further research is necessary to prove the true connection.
Originally buried in the Old Burying Grounds. Reinterred at Fairmount Cemetery (Newark) in mass crypt in 1890's.
