John Portlock was born in Shenandoah, Virginia.
He married Sarah Daugherty on Dec. 27, 1791 in Faquier Co., Virginia.
John served in the American Revolution in Cpt. David Gwinn's Company. Pension claim S. 17636 - from family information. John made declaration in Rush Co., IN. Circuit Court to obtain Rev. War Pension on Sept. 22, 1832.
John and Sarah's children included: Barnett D, Thomas Samuel, (Dr.)John S., David Lee, Moses B., and possibly two unknown daughters.
Notes from other sites and family state that John was buried in the Andersonville cemetery. Thru contacts I believe that the Old Brick is most likely the aka of Andersonville cemetery.
